Groundskeeper Lead Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Groundskeeper Lead performs lawn and grounds work of a semi-skilled nature that will vary with the season. Responsibilities involve physical labor pertaining to maintenance of grounds and installation of shrubs, trees, flowers, and other landscaping flora. Work will be conducted mostly out of doors in all weather conditions. The Groundskeeper Lead knows how to safely operate motorized equipment and hand/power tools. Tasks will be assigned in detail by an immediate supervisor and are subject to frequent inspection.
Adjunct Faculty - Chemistry (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The discipline of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Geosciences needs adjunct instructors for General Chemistry courses (CY 105 and CY 106) and Chemistry lectures and oversees the College Chemistry Labs (CY 107 and CY 108). These courses make up the introductory level chemistry or Gen. Chem courses and their respective labs. We offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with three concentration options. General Chemistry I and II are required for all of these tracks. We also serve as service courses and prerequisites for other programs across campus. We are seeking applicants to provide in-person, hybrid, and/or online instruction. Experience teaching in a traditional classroom setting is desired. Experience teaching online and in traditional classroom courses is desired.

Police Officer Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Police Officer is responsible for the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and regulations of the university by performing police and patrol work in accordance with federal, state, county, municipal laws and university regulations. Work may involve personal danger and the use of independent judgment in responding to emergencies. This position may be assigned to day or evening shifts and may be called to work odd hours for special events or activities on campus. Work is frequently performed out of doors in all weather conditions. Work is performed under general supervision of the Police Sergeant and in accordance with established routine and is checked by superior officers through personal inspections, review of reports, and discussion with employees
Graduate Research Assistant - Biology (Fall 2024) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Department of Biology at JSU is seeking candidates for three GRA positions in Fall 2024. This position is funded from external sources, and continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds. This is a research position involving professional and technical work under the supervision of Dr. Le Su to investigate cell biology and molecularly targeted therapy of childhood cancers. Primary responsibility is to engage in original research under Dr. Su’s supervision in the course of obtaining a graduate degree. This can involve regular lab work, library research, data analysis, writing, presentations, or any other activity that can be counted as research. The GRA position is not significantly involved with teaching or devoted to administrative functions. Assistant Director, Community Standards Jacksonville (Main Campus)
Reporting to the Director of the Office of Community Standards and Title IX, the Assistant Director assists in the daily operation and functioning of the office. The Assistant Director of Community Standards assists in overseeing and managing JSU student conduct system, facilitates student community outreach, educational programming and training. The Assistant Director ensures that the student conduct system adjudicates all nonacademic student conduct, and that student misconduct is supported by a philosophy of educating and supporting students while ensuring safety, security, and upholding the highest standards and expectations for ethical and responsible conduct. This position works closely with students, faculty, staff, administrators, University Police Department, and local police agencies.
Adjunct Faculty - Geography (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025) Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Department of Chemistry and Geosciences is seeking adjunct faculty members to teach courses in the areas of World Regional Geography, Human Geography, and Physical Geography at the undergraduate level. These courses are offered in-person, hybrid, and online, with experience in all three instruction methods preferred. This position is for one year, providing temporary course replacement for a faculty member with course releases, with 2 courses in Fall and 4 courses in Spring.
Adjunct Faculty - Finance, Economics, Accounting & Statistics (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025) Jacksonville (Main Campus)

Coordinator, Graduate School Jacksonville (Main Campus)
The Coordinator for the Graduate School will serve as a point of contact for potential students, enrolled graduate students, university faculty and staff regarding graduate admissions and enrollment for Jacksonville State University. This position will serve as the primary recruiter for the Graduate School for all graduate-level academic programs and will collaborate with university departments to develop, implement, and evaluate for effectiveness all implemented graduate recruitment events. This position will work closely with the Graduate Enrollment Specialists to generate timely reports regarding admissions and retention trends. The Coordinator will engage with graduate students admitted to a JSU graduate program regarding resources, registration, payment deadlines, and so forth. This position will also work closely with the Dean of the Graduate School regarding retention protocols and communication strategies for continued graduate student engagement.
