Adjunct Faculty Position

Job Summary

Jax State partners with many high schools in our region to offer college courses through Dual Enrollment on the high school campus. This job posting is for English faculty on those partner school campuses who, working with their principal and Jax State’s Dual Enrollment Coordinator, are seeking adjunct certification in order to teach Dual Enrollment English courses on their home campus.

Through this job posting, the Head of the English Department will assess faculty credentials, including transcripts, coursework, and degrees, as well as other teaching documents and overall preparation for college-level teaching. An interview and classroom observation may be required of all applicants.

A minimum of a master’s degree in a field appropriate to the discipline with at least 18 hours completed in graduate-level English courses is required to teach college English courses. Transcripts submitted with the application will be evaluated, and any additional degrees and/or coursework needed will be discussed with the applicant.

  • Cover Letter. The Cover Letter must address the applicant’s readiness, preparation, and/or experience teaching college-level General Education English courses, such as composition, speech, and literature.
  • CV. The CV must include at least three references, in addition to the principal, with current email addresses and phone numbers.
  • Teaching Philosophy.
  • Unofficial Transcripts (Official Transcripts required upon hire).
